Blue Hawk Tactical – Refund & Returns Policy
Overview
Blue Hawk Tactical supplies specialised security equipment and provides armed response, guarding, riot control, technical installations, CCTV/LPR systems, alarms, and access control services. Due to the nature of our industry, we follow a strict returns and replacement policy.
Our policy applies for 7 (seven) days from:
- The date you receive your consignment, OR
- The date of job completion / installation sign-off,
whichever is applicable to the specific service or product.
After 7 days, we are unable to offer replacements, repairs under initial defect reporting, or accept returns unless required by applicable South African law or covered by a manufacturer’s warranty.
1. Eligibility for Return or Replacement
To qualify under this policy:
- You must notify Blue Hawk Tactical in writing within 7 days of receiving the goods or of job completion.
- The item must be in the same condition as received and still within the original packaging (where applicable).
- Only defective or damaged items (not caused by misuse, tampering, incorrect installation by third parties, electrical surges, lightning, or negligence) may be returned for assessment.
- Installed or commissioned equipment forms part of a technical security ecosystem. Once installed and operational, it is not eligible for refund, but defects will be repaired or replaced as per this policy.
Please do NOT return any product directly to the manufacturer.
All assessments and processing must be done through Blue Hawk Tactical.
2. Replacement Policy (No Refunds)
Blue Hawk Tactical does not offer refunds for security equipment or installations, except where expressly required by law.
If an item is found defective within the 7-day reporting window:
- We will first assess the item.
- If the defect is confirmed and falls under valid defect conditions, we will replace the item with the same or equivalent product, or repair it if appropriate.
If no replacement is possible, the matter will be handled in accordance with applicable consumer protection laws and/or applicable product warranties.
We do not issue cash refunds, credits, or reimbursement for installed systems, hardware components, or labour already performed.
3. Exclusions & Non-Returnable Items
The following cannot be returned, refunded, or replaced under this policy:
- Items reported after 7 days
- Equipment damaged due to electrical surges, lightning, water ingress, tampering, incorrect handling, or malicious damage
- Items not in original condition or missing parts for reasons not due to our error
- Installed and commissioned systems that are operating correctly
- Custom-configured equipment (e.g., programmed alarms, LPR cameras configured to a site, access control credentials)
- Labour, call-out fees, installation costs, programming fees, and service charges
Approved returns may be reduced or rejected if items show signs of:
- Improper installation by non-BHT personnel
- Evidence of tampering
- Misuse or neglect
- Damage unrelated to manufacturing defects
4. Exchange Process
If your product qualifies for replacement:
- Email proof of purchase, description of the defect, and photos/videos to:
info@bluehawktactical.co.za - We will notify you whether the item qualifies for assessment.
- Once received and inspected, we will inform you whether the item will be:
- Repaired
- Replaced
- Declined (if defect not covered)
Replacements are issued for the same item, or an equivalent model if the original is discontinued.
5. Shipping or Return of Physical Goods
To return an item for assessment:

Important notes:
- You are responsible for return shipping costs unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Shipping costs are non-refundable.
- If returning high-value or electronic items, we recommend using trackable shipping or insurance.
- Blue Hawk Tactical is not liable for items lost during return transit.
For large installations or fixed security equipment, Blue Hawk Tactical may elect to conduct the assessment on-site.
6. Turnaround Time
Replacement timeframes depend on:
- Stock availability
- Manufacturer lead times
- Nature of the defect
- Scheduling for on-site technical assessment
We strive to process all assessments efficiently but security equipment sometimes requires diagnostic evaluation or manufacturer testing.
